| What is now Alire Racing was started in 1967 by Ross V. Alire Sr. Ross Sr. started in the Quarter Horse
business in Western Colorado after
moving from the Alire Ranch in New Mexico. The ranch had originally been homesteaded in
the early 1800's. Ross Sr. started in the industry by breaking, buying, selling, trading
and training racing Quarter Horses in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. He was mainly known
for his horse breaking and training abilities, as he broke and trained hundreds of horses
for a variety of horse people. He broke and trained racing, and roping, to just plain good
old utility horses. Ross Jr. (Ross V. Alire Jr.) started "America's Quarter Horse" Internet Network in association with Richard Lorimor (TYJ Unlimited, Inc.) in early 1996. This network was set out to be a major tool for all horse |
and quarter horse people to be able to communicate and
promote their horses in the modern and changing world of higher technology. Our goal has
been to feature Horses from all walks of the industry on the same network so horse people
can help each other promote and market their Quarterhorses. We feel that it takes horse
people from all walks of the Quarter Horse World to promote the breed successfully. This
is what makes the Quarterhorse industry what it is today. We now have one of the most popular horse sites on the World Wide Web. We are currently averaging over 100,000 hits per month and it is steadily growing, thanks to you our dedicated viewers. We hope to continue this outstanding performance by making our site affordable to all horse people and by providing our viewers with timely information. |
